Mardi Gras, which translates as "Fat Tuesday", is the biggest festival and
party of the year.  Dozens of parades, balls and parties mix with the
ongoing celebrations on Bourbon Street.
Visitors may buy tickets to the Krewe of Orpheus super party known as
"Orpheuscapade".

"Fat Tuesday" is the last day of Carnival, and the day before "Ash
Wednesday".  We celebrate Mardi Gras in New Orleans to "make sure we
have something to repent for during Lent".  Y'all come down and "Let The
Good Times (and parades) Roll !

are open all year.  The many unique shops
and the "Flea Market" in the French
Quarter offer a great collection of Mardi
Gras masks, which make great souvenirs
and gifts.
Mardi Gras: It's Carnival Time in Louisiana is a permanent
exhibition. The exhibit is open Tuesday through Sunday from
9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults.
